Computer Arithmetic

Computers perform arithmetic functions working at the bit level (in a binary system). Binary addition follows the same basic rules for decimal addition, except only 1 and 0 are the allowed digits. Binary subtraction is more complicated as it involves using two's complement and binary addition.
