Internet
|
Home users use telephone lines or cable connections to access the Internet. They connect to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) who will charge them a flat monthly rate or according to the time they spend on-line. As well as paying the service provider the home user may have to pay the telephone or cable company for the cost of the telephone calls, usually charged as a local call. Once connected to the Internet it is possible to access a wide range of services from around the world. In the next section we will look at just some of the services available to the user. |
