Computer Languages
Introduction (1 of 3)

This unit of the course is divided into five modules:
  • Language Elements
  • 1st & 2nd Generation Languages
  • Compilers and Interpreters
  • 3rd to 5th Generation Languages
  • Stages of Program Development
  • Each module deals with a specific topic relating to computer languages.
It is important to understand that the word "generation" in this context refers to the order in which the types of computer languages have appeared, and does not imply that the earlier generations of languages are no longer in use.
