Networks - Security (2 of 2)

Networks store their files centrally on a file server. This makes it much easier to maintain security than with a large number of stand-alone computers with the files saved on their own hard disks.

Security is maintained by ensuring that users have login names and passwords and are restricted to files and directories for which they have clearance. One important aspect of security is the regular backing-up of important files. This can easily be done when files are centrally stored.
