| This type of configuration uses coaxial cable. It has one long cable called a central backbone with short cables (drop cables) attached to it via cable taps which split the electrical signal. The drop cables are then connected to the Network Interface Card. | |

to use a number of shorter lengths of cable attached
to T-connectors at regular intervals to make up
the backbone. Each T-Connector is then attached directly to the Network Interface Card of a computer. |
