Other applications of ROM can be found where a
microprocessor is dedicated to a particular task.
In these instances ROM has provided a cost
effective way of storing software to be used by
the microprocessor. In this example ROM is
used to store the various programs that may be
run under a microprocessor dedicated to controlling a washing
machine.
